The first Blu-ray movies will be released on 23 May. Two leading distributors, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Lionsgate, have announced the release of 13 titles to coincide with the launch of the first commercially available BD player by Samsung. Apple looks towards Intel architecture

Later today, Apple CEO Steve Jobs will announce that the company is to begin migrating to an Intel-based architecture next year, according to various Internet sources. Talks between the two companiescame to light in the Wall Street Journal a fortnight ago and now the US business newspaper reports that Apple has begun briefing some partners about its plans. Apple on track for Intel Macs

Apple is on schedule to ship its first Intel-based computers by June 2006, Steve Jobs confirmed today. 'We are on track,' the Apple CEO said at a press conference as the Apple Expo got underway in Paris. Users warned to beware the 3rd of Feb

Users are being urged to ensure that their anti-virus software and other security systems are in place before tomorrow - the 3rd of February when a new piece of malware threatens the files of infected machines. The malware - termed MyWife, Blackmal, Nyxem, the Karma Sutra worm and other names depending on which security firm you speak to - surfaced last month. The malware gets its name by its use of the time honoured technique of promising pornographic files in the attachment, what Microsoft coyly calls at attempt to 'entice users through social engineering efforts'. ...more
