IBM raises silicon to 210GHz

IBM says it has developed a chip that will run at 210GHz using silicon-germanium manufacturing processes. The new chips are far thinner than any on the market today, says IBM, meaning they can go faster but use less power. Apple's relationship with the open source community has come under renewed attack after reports on the Web that KHTML developers are unhappy with the way the direction that Apple has taken with Safari. KHTML is an open source rendering engine - the software that takes the HTML and Javascript code that makes up Web pages and turns it into something readable on a computer screen. HP aims higher for recycling IT kit

Hewlett Packard is raising its targets for the recycling of its equipment. The company now says that it aims to recycle a total of 1 billion pounds (453 million kilos) of material by 2007.
