The software giant is appealing in a Federal Court against a ruling in a lower court in Chicago that Internet Explorer infringed patents held by developer Eolas, a spin-off of the University of California. EPSON claims printing of 2880 dots per inch for its latest Stylus, aimed at home and small office users.
