Acer maps GPS to its PDA range

Acer has beefed up its PDA range with new GPS devices. The n35 'Enhanced Navigator' boasts a 12-channel GPS receiver and pre-activated software - meaning you don't have to hook it up to the Internet to get access to the maps of the country in which it is sold. The PDA runs Microsoft Windows Mobile Premium Edition, has 32MB of flash memory for the OS and embedded apps, a further 64MB of SDRAM for storage and other programs and a 256MB SD card on which is stored the navigation software and maps. ...more

Companies that provide TV over the Internet (IPTV) joined forces on Monday to set a single global standard so that systems can work together. The Open IPTV Forum is backed by companies including Ericsson, Matsushita's Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Siemens AG, Sony, AT&T, Telecom Italia and France Telecom.
