Cisco unveils its next-gen, half-million dollar CRS-1 router

With prices starting at nigh on half a million dollars, Cisco is hoping that its brand new CRS-1 router will help it fight its way ahead of stripling rivals such as Juniper. The Carrier Routing System 1 has been the subject of much speculation for almost a year now as the company's share of the lucrative carrier-grade router market slipped, although whether this is due to rival products or customers waiting for this new product remains to be seen. Google and Apple are collaborating on a number of new initiatives, according to the search giant's CEO Eric Schmidt. CCTV Trojan stalking the Internet

UK security company Sophos is warning of a Trojan posing as an image of a purported rapist. The company says emails asking recipients to help identify the 'rapist' by clicking on the attachment are being spammed out with subject lines such as 'CCTV still of Rapist', 'Do you recognise this person?', or 'Campus Student Raped'. The attachment contains a copy of the Stinx-N Trojan, which will copy itself to the computer's hard drive if run. ...more

PlusNet has revealed a slight change to its operating policy for its Premier customers.
