Microsoft fixes Passport 'feature'

Microsoft says it has fixed an `oversight` in its Passport system that allowed an attacker to redirect the response containing a link that would allow the password to be changed to any desired email address. It suspended the feature while looking for a fix and on Friday claimed that Passport was back on its feet and secure. Apple updates Bonjour

Apple has updated the Windows version of its Bonjour zero-configuration networking software. The software, formerly known as Rendezvous, is a networking protocol that uses industry standard IP protocols to allow devices to automatically discover each other without the need to enter IP addresses or configure DNS servers. The software includes a plugin to discover advertised HTTP servers using Internet Explorer - click the Bonjour icon in the Internet Explorer toolbar to enable Bonjour browsing - and Bonjour Printer Wizard, which allows Windows computers to print to Bonjour networked printers, including USB shared printers connected to Apple wireless hubs: AirPort Extreme and AirPort Express Base Stations. ...more
