UPDATED Microsoft updates OneCare ahead of rivals

Microsoft has warned of a flaw in its Word software, and has already patched its OneCare security software before details of the vulnerability have been given to rival companies in the security industry. The MSA 933052 vulnerability affects Office 2000 and XP and has the potential for a remote attacker to run arbitrary code on the target computer. Carphone Warehouse to buy AOL UK Net business

Carphone Warehouse has announced that it is to acquire AOL's UK Internet access business for ?370 million. Under the agreement, Carphone Warehouse will acquire AOL's Internet access customer base in the UK as well as the supporting management and infrastructure. AOL will continue to provide its portal - co-branded with Carphone Warehouse - and will manage the online advertising sales through a revenue-sharing agreement. ...more
