Novell challenges SCO's slander case

Novell has asked for dismissal of SCO's 'Slander of Title' suit. SCO filed the suit alleging that Novell had made false statements that it owned Unix copyrights and that Novell's public statements caused potential customers to doubt SCO's Unix rights and take their business elsewhere. Novell says in the motion that: 'Without conclusively establishing that it owns the Unix and UnixWare copyrights, SCO cannot show that Novell's statements to the contrary are false, and cannot prevail. ...more

The Directive on Privacy and Electronic Communications comes into effect today, making it mandatory that users explicitly opt in to receive unsolicited email.
