Telcoms regulator Ofcom is to investigate whether BT's new residential phone tariffs are anti-competitive. Ofcom says it has received complaints from 13 so-called Carrier Pre-Selection Operators (CPSOs). New 1000MHz DDR memory unleashed

US memory manufacturer, Patriot Memory has announced the release of its new Extreme Performance and Dual Channel Ease Latency DDR2 1000MHz (pictured). They are aimed at overclockers and gamers. Walkman phones push record results

Sony Ericsson has hailed the success of its Walkman phones in reporting record results for the last financial year. The joint venture sold three million of the music playing handsets since the first one was launched in August. 'We are now seeing the benefit of our earlier investments in R&D which have enabled us to expand the product line-up and successfully appeal to new consumers with products like the Walkman phone series,' said Miles Flint, president of Sony Ericsson. ...more

ITC frees digital TV

The Independent Television Commission (ITC) has awarded the three digital licences, orphaned following the collapse of ITV digital, to the BBC and transmission company Crown Castle UK. The companies won the licences over five other bids. These came from the likes of a consortium of ITV companies, Channel 4 and a pay-TV company, which wanted to include paid-for channels in its offering, as well as another that included United Business Media, S4C and NTL within its ranks. ...more
