Sony give prices, dates for Playstation 3

Sony has finally announced the launch dates and pricing for the much anticipated PlayStation 3. Computer security comes cheap at Easter

It seems Joe Public's mind is somewhat soft-boiled at Easter: research shows four in five of us would volunteer personal information in return for an Easter egg raffle ticket. Infosecurity Europe's annual taking of the public pulse reveals that 82 per cent of those questioned at Victoria handed over all the information necessary to steal their identity in return for being entered into a draw to win ?60 of Easter eggs. Spyware strain dictates browsing

Spyware is evolving from simply tracking your activities to strong arming victims to visit potentially nefarious websites, according to PC Tools. It claims to have found a new strain of spyware that analyses the keywords in links within websites that the victim is browsing. Once the victim clicks a link, instead of visiting the page expected, the spyware hijacks the browser and sends it to a site or a set of search results based on those keywords - many of which are unsavoury in nature. ...more

Pixar caught in dodgy derivative scandal

Pixar has been dragged into the controversy surrounding Apple and the granting of stock options by the news that it too awarded options to senior executives when share prices were at a low point. In December 2000 creative director John Lasseter was granted an option to buy one million shares at $26.50 per share, just 13 cents above the year's low, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). ...more
