CES: Ultrawideband debuts in laptops and HDTVs

Ultrawideband (UWB) is the latest wireless specification to force manufacturers into a standards battle, with the war being fought out in on several booths at the Consumer Electronics Show. Visitors are seeing UWB in use in laptops and HDTV's, while Freescale Semiconductor is showing off what it claims to be the world's first UWB-enabled mobile phone. Firefox downloads past the 25 million mark

Downloads of Firefox passed 25 million on 15 February, 99 days after its release. The Mozilla Organisation said that its Web browser 'has quickly become the browser of choice, offering user-friendly features such as tabbed browsing, built-in pop-up blocking and live bookmarks'. Mozilla added that Spread Firefox, the website charged with getting the software on to computers, now has over 70,000 members actively promoting the browsers propagation. ...more
