Mandriva brings Centrino into the Linux fold

Mandriva has launched the 2006 version of its Linux platform, claiming the 'only' Linux distro to offer official support for Intel's Centrino platform. It includes the Kat desktop search utility that searches both filenames and file contents and an interactive firewall that feeds live information on attempts to access the system. US puts South Korea on piracy 'watch list'

The US has warned South Korea that unless it takes steps to cut the amount of music and film piracy it could face sanctions. The Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) says that piracy in Korea, which has the highest broadband coverage in the world, cost copyright holders $572mn in 2002.
