Major Orange broadband service outage

Many of Orange's broadband subscribers have been without their service since Monday afternoon. The company blamed a 'network equipment failure' for the catastrophic outage which, at its peak on Monday afternoon, affected 100,000 customers. The fault apparently lay within the company's Local Loop Unbundling (LLU) network, which comprises around 10 per cent of Orange's 1 million broadband subscribers. ...more

It voted yesterday to provide 600,000 new visas over the next three years for foreign workers sought by the booming technology industries.
