Microsoft appeals second EC fine

Microsoft has formally lodged an appeal with the Court of First Instance against the €280.5mn fine imposed back in July. Apple Corps to appeal ruling

Apple Corps has announced that it will appeal yesterday's ruling that Apple Computer's use of the apple logo in connection with its iTunes Music Store does not violate a 1991 trademark agreement between the two companies. 'With great respect to the trial judge, we consider he has reached the wrong conclusion,' Neil Aspinall, Apple Corps' manager, said in a statement. BT, Energis join alliance to finger DDoS gangs

Some of the world's biggest names in telecoms have combined under the banner of The Fingerprint Alliance in order to combat the growing threat of organised criminals mounting major denial of service attacks. The group, which includes companies such as BT, Cisco, Energis, Earthlink and Rackspace, is joining together with Arbor Networks to share information about attacks via the company's Peakflow SP technology.
