A group of companies producing flash memory cards has announced the creation of a new standard to enhance and increase the security capabilities of flash memory cards. The aim of the Mobile Commerce (MC) Extension Standard is to boost the commercial possibilities of mobile products in which flash memory cards are used. Eli Harari, President and CEO of SanDisk, said, 'The new Mobile Commerce Security specification will make it possible for such storage cards to secure the transfer of downloaded content such as music and movies as well as personal information that is stored today in electronic smart cards, including financial, medical, personal identification and other secure personal records. ...more
