Press fooled by dummy iPod phone

Media reports that pictures of the rumoured iPod phone have been leaked are causing red faces as the purported pictures are nothing more than a mock up. Reports in PDA France about a front cover picture of French title 20 Minutes magazine in, and some UK publications, are claiming that the pictures represent the final version of an iPod phone that will be launched by Apple at the forthcoming Apple Expo in Paris. PGP to sign VoIP calls

The inventor of the Internet's best-known encryption software has turned his attention to the security of IP voice calls. Phil Zimmerman, whose PGP (Pretty Good Encryption) software is the de facto standard for the encryption of email, announced that he will demonstrate a prototype of his new program for scrambling VoIP traffic - Internet-based phone calls. Via builds a chipset for the Turion

Chip developer, Via Technologies, has announced the availability of the VIA K8N800A chipset for the new AMD Turion 64-bit processor for notebooks. Via says that the K8N800A is low-power core-logic chipset with an S3 Graphics UniChrome Pro integrated graphics processor (IGP) incorporated with the northbridge. RPC threat forces new Microsoft security bulletin

Microsoft has issued another security update for Windows users, Security Bulletin MS03-039 to be precise. Three new vulnerabilities have been identified, relating to the way Microsoft handles Remote Procedure Calls (RPC - an inter-process communication protocol, which has been the subject of another recent update).
