Internet behind rise in ID theft

The World Wide Web is not a totally safe environment, what with malicious viruses and some of the more dubious virtual inhabitants, but now the US government has revealed a new threat. It seems that not even our identities are safe anymore and a new report from the US Treasury Department reveals that ID theft is steadily on the increase with 617 cases reported in 2000, almost double that of 267 in the previous year. Some of the main incidents in the US involved social security theft, where someone acquires another person's social security number from the database via the Internet, while other incidents of ID theft have resulted from the stealing of personal items. ...more

Adobe to release two versions of Photoshop CS3

Adobe has revealed that it will be launching two versions of Photoshop when it unveils Creative Suite 3 on 27 March. In addition to the new, long-awaited version of the image editing and manipulation software, Adobe will introduce Photoshop CS3 Extended, a completely new edition designed, in Adobe's words, for cross-media creative professionals to stretch the limits of digital imaging.
