PlusNet offers broadband guarantee

PlusNet is offering anyone who signs up for its broadband services the option of switching to another ISP if they are not happy. Under the terms of the PlusNet Guarantee, the ISP will pay any migration fee charged by another service provider if, after 45 days, a new customer 'is not completely satisfied'. Virgin Mobile to trial TV to mobile phone service

Mobile telco Virgin Mobile is the latest company to announce that it is to pilot a mobile phone TV service. The company has partnered with BT Livetime to develop the service that is being piloted to around 1,000 Virgin Mobile customers within the M25. Grokster closes down

In what looks to be a final victory for the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), the Grokster file swapping service has closed down and has agreed to pay $50 million in damages. Sony moves to London

In an effort to save money, Japanese electronics giant Sony has announced that it will consolidate it's four worldwide financial centres into one London base. Bringing together the centres in Tokyo, New York, London and Singapore is expected to save the company ?6-7 billion per year, eventually allowing Sony to accrue ?3 trillion in funds, a Sony spokesman revealed. The company plans to use a sophisticated cash management system at its London-based Sony Global Treasury Services and then transfer the operations of its other subsidiaries to London. ...more

Acrobat 8 somersaults into Adobe's Creative Suite

Adobe integrates Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional software into its Adobe Creative Suite 2.3 Premium. As well as the updated Acrobat 8 bringing the creation and management of PDF files to the CS party, the Premium version of the suite will now also bundle Dreamweaver 8, Adobe's Web design and development tool, which it acquired with its purchase of Macromedia last year. ...more
