In the September issue, the price and code for the MSI X52P combo drive were incorrect. This was due to Simply supplying us with the price and code for the plain MSI 52x CD-RW drive and not the combo drive with additional bezels. Borland bundles for e-business

Borland has put together a collection of software design and development tools - entitled Borland Enterprise Studio Java Edition, or "The Studio" - that targets Java-based e-commerce applications. Bundling together its JBuilder Enterprise Edition with programs from Rational Software and Macromedia, the collection is meant to provide a complete design, development and management system. The exact degree of profitability is not being disclosed, but the new CEO Eric Schmidt has revealed that the company has had a profit on operations for the last two quarters. Philips has launched a range of speakers with a premium on design The smoothly curved MMS460, at ?55, comprises five satellites and a wooden subwoofer. The curvy satellites are so designed to reduce noise reflection, while the octagonal sub-woofer's design minimises standing waves and further features reduce distortion at the low end of the spectrum. The speakers also use Philips' new TDA8947J Integrated Amplifier Chip which offers 18V architecture - rather than the usual 12V - for an 'improved dynamic range'. ...more
