Lenovo and Apple top reliability poll

Brand name laptops win reliability survey but Dell and Gateway have cause for concernA study of over 20,000 support calls has shown that Apple and Lenovo make the most reliable laptops. Computer support agency Rescuecom studied the call data from its centres and cross referenced it against the market share of brands in different US locations. Intels traditional hold over the integrated graphics market has weakened over the last three months of 2005 There is good news for Via and Nvidia on graphics market share according to latest figures covering the last three months of 2005, but it makes unhappy reading for Intel. Indications that Intel has weakened its traditional hold over the integrated graphics market - machines with built-in, chipset-based graphics support, as opposed to a separate 'discrete' graphics system - is very good news for Via. PayPal launches in the UK

Online payment service PayPal has made its European debut in the UK, and plans to rollout across the rest of the continent. Recently acquired by the eBay Internet auctions giant, PayPal allows any individual or organisation to make and receive credit card payments to and from any individual in 38 countries worldwide; the only proviso being that both parties have valid email addresses. The company insists that it provides the highest possible level of transaction security, and provides both buyers and sellers with several means of redress should one or other prove dishonest. ...more
