Sony boss goes for a tomato

With news that Sega CEO JF Cecillon has flown the coop, it is surprising to hear that Sony's top marketing man has also moved onto pastures new. Marketing Director, Alan Welsman oversaw the original PlayStation launch in 1995 and has been at Sony right up to the recent PS2 campaign. UK games chart: Need for Speed is the New Year's number one

Unsurprisingly, the post-Christmas games market is a bit sluggish, according to this week's ELSPA UK games chart. It's a New Year but EA's multi-format street racing game Need For Speed: Most Wanted remains in pole position. According to security researchers, cyber criminals are using Google Adwords to infect unsuspecting users. According to security software developer Exploit Prevention Labs's team of researchers, malware is being distributed under the guise of adverts for legitimate, trusted organisations. BA - the world's favourite Internet service provider?

British Airways has chosen Boeing to supply a Net-enabled aircraft system to provide in-flight access. The move is a blow to the European aircraft industry - The Independent reports that BA chose the Boeing system in preference to an equivalent Airbus offering. Boeing's Connexion system supports an airborne, satellite-based broadband service and trials of the system are expected to being in February 2003. ...more
