Email authentication the key to fighting spam, claims security vendor

Security vendor Tumbleweed's CEO Jeff Smith said that while email authentication is not a solution to spam in itself, without it current alternative technologies simply don't work. Back in August, email security company Ciphertrust published a report that found spammers are actively using the latest authentication techniques to ensure spam gets through - simply by complying with the new protocols. EU states agree on rules for VoIP services

Telecoms regulators from all the EU member states have agreed new rules for Internet telephony that will enable VoIP services to compete on a level playing field with land-based and mobile services. The 25 regulators have agreed to apply the same rules to Internet services as they do to others, providing, for instance, equal access to non-Internet networks. Napster shifts UK sales and marketing to Frankfurt

Napster is moving large parts of its UK operation to Frankfurt in a bid to cut costs. Sales, marketing and management for the digital music service will be relocated to Germany, with UK general manager Leanne Sharman leaving the company.
