Sony to extend its CD DRM experiment

Sony BMG, the music arm of the consumer electronics giant, is stepping up the introduction new anti-copying software for a range of its music CDs. A total of ten CD titles, covering over a million produced copies, have now been introduced using DRM software from a British company. The Cloud has a silver lining for Vista users

The Cloud, which operates Europe's largest number of Wi-Fi hotspots, is offering UK-based Vista users a month's free wireless access. Until 30 April 2007, all Vista users who register with The Cloud will be able to connect to its 7,500 hotspots nationwide, located in coffee shops, hotels, train stations, pubs and airports. This is in addition to the 'hotzones' that provide coverage within the city centres of Birmingham, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham and Oxford, plus the City of London and the boroughs of Camden, Islington and Kensington. ...more

European e-commerce complaints leap by 75 per cent

Complaints about products bought abroad via the Internet leapt by 75 per cent across Europe last year. Almost half of the complaints related to non-delivery of goods, with 38 per cent concerning goods that do not arrive at all.
