Alleged production threat to Microsoft Xbox

Microsoft has denied that the 8 November launch of the much-heralded Xbox games console may be hit by production problems, following reports on the Internet that its partners may be unable to deliver essential components on time. The New York Times quotes a Wall Street brokerage's allegation that "a flaw in Intel's motherboard design" may delay manufacturing for three to four weeks, with Microsoft having just 50,000 units ready for the launch date. GNER completes East Coast line WiFi

GNER has completed the installation of wireless Internet access on its East Coast lines. All 41 electric and diesel trains now have WiFi on board, making GNER the world's biggest operator of wireless-enabled train carriages and the UK's first all-WiFi fleet. Joost and ITV plunge into web TV battle

Joost - the internet TV service from the founders of Skype - claims to have 'officially opened for business', even though you still need an invite to download the software. It comes on a day of frantic activity in the web TV arena, with the BBC getting the go-ahead for its iPlayer , and ITV announcing details of its own on-demand service.
