AMD halves prices of server chips, and mobile processors cut too

AMD has rejigged its processor pricing. As well as slashing the price of its eight-way Opteron servers, by as much as 50 per cent, it has reduced its pricing for its desktop replacement Athlon XP-M processor by up to 20 per cent, along with reductions in the low-voltage models.
