IBM builds servers based on PowerPC 970

Undaunted by the sabre-rattling from SCO, IBM has announced that it has built prototype servers based on its next generation Power5 chips. The company claims that the Power5 based eServer systems are expected to offer four times the system performance over the first generation Power4 based servers. Europe agrees mobile roaming price caps

European Union legislators were set to back a popular plan on Wednesday to slash the cost of using mobile phones abroad in the 27-member bloc. The EU's executive Commission says the plan will cut prices to a quarter or a fifth of what EU citizens now pay for calls back home from other member states.
