AOL and NTL in European negotiations

AOL is in talks with cable giant NTL to go into partnership across Europe. NTL has confirmed that it is in the very early stages of negotiation with AOL and it is thought any deal would involve AOL using NTL's Europe-wide cable network in exchange for AOL's content. Microsoft repackages server support for small businesses

Microsoft's Small Business Server 2003 Service Pack 1 is a roll-up of updates including Windows Server 2003 SP1, Exchange Server SP1 and recent security bulletin releases. Another update included is the Intelligent Message Filter, providing anti-spam protection. With SP1, Exchange is automatically configured to filter out mail sent to accounts that do not exist in the Active Directory directory service and there is also functionality to prevent spam senders from using such filtering to harvest valid accounts. ...more

BT signs up three million broadband users

BT Retail has signed up its three millionth broadband subscriber and passed cable company NTL Telewest to become the UK's leading ISP. The telecoms company secured one in four of all new ADSL customers in the period between July and September 2006 and now has 32 per cent of the total DSL broadband market.
