Microsoft is putting a brave face on the decision of the European Court of First Instance to dismiss its appeal against immediate imposition of the remedies recommended by Europe's Competition Commissioner. Gates: Vista takes Windows to 'whole new level'

Microsoft chairman Bill Gates claimed Vista has taken the Windows platform to 'a whole new level' as he launched the new operating system and Office 2007 in London. Speaking at The British Library, Gates claimed today's launch was a 'special occasion', being only the second time the company has launched a new operating system and Office suite simultaneously. AMD launches new laptop chip with power-saving technology

AMD has extended its low-power range of processors with the Athlon XP-M 2100+. Targeted at thin and light, wirelessly enabled notebooks, the new processor uses the company's PowerNow!
