Microsoft Exchange 12 goes beta

Microsoft has released the first beta of Exchange 12, the next-generation of its messaging and collaboration server. Beta 1 is a closed release in that a pre-selected group of testers - picked from Microsoft partners - will have access to the code. Domain name holders who are having trouble moving their URLs to a different ISP can now call on Nominet, which manages the .uk top level domain, to make the changes for them. Forty-two per cent of new, fourth generation iPods are afflicted with defect audio, according to an iPodlounge survey. Google confirms work on mobile phone

Apple and Google may share a board member, and Google technology may be key to the iPhone, but that hasn't stopped the search giant from working on its own mobile phone. The move has been rumoured for some time, but it has now finally been confirmed to Spanish newspaper Noticias by Google Spain chief Isabel Aguilera. She told the paper that it was working on the phone, along other projects, as a means of gaining access to information while on the move. ...more

Symantec security products found with security hole

A remotely exploitable vulnerability has been discovered in one of Symantec's security products. According to information on the company website and from security specialists eEye Digital, customers of versions of Symantec's AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10 are susceptible to such an attack, although there has as yet been no discovery of exploit code in the public domain. eEye Digital adds Symantec's Client Security to the list of affected products and warns that more may be affected. ...more
