HP beefs up Integrity range

HP says that its new chipset that can increase the Integrity server's ability to handle complex workloads by up to 30 per cent using the same number of processors per machine. The company is also claiming that a new improved version of HP-UX, along with better management tools, will allow companies to get virtualisation projects up and running in less than half the time. Get an Oxford education online

Oxford University Press has put its core language and subject reference dictionaries online, and will charge for it. The Oxford Reference Online: The Core Collection will be available through subscription to academic, corporate and specialist libraries, schools, colleges, universities, businesses and government offices. The collection already boasts more than a million dictionary definitions, facts, figures, dates and other data, and this will be bolstered through constant updating - more than 30 new and revised works are due over the next two years covering everything from archaeology to statistics. ...more

Corporate security slips up on Banana

Results from Pentasafe Security Technology's Security Awareness Index (SAI) survey have found that 25 per cent of employees responded that they considered 'Banana' to be a safe and acceptable password. Available here, the SAI survey revealed that, along with easily hacked passwords, other faults ranged from 90 per cent of employees saying they would open email attachments, including Word files and Visual basic scripts, to 25 per cent not having read their company's security policy in more than two years.
