UK scores high for secure remote working

In a global survey of remote workers, the UK shapes up as one of the more secure nations. The Cisco-commissioned survey polled 100 or more remote workers from each of the 10 countries and discovered that while many of us proclaim an awareness of the extra security risks associated with remote working, that doesn't necessarily translate into safe working practices. Instant digital printing for Polaroid

The company that is synonymous with instant cameras today announced two new digital printing technologies that would bring Polaroid into the digital 21st century. Codenamed "Opal" and "Onyx", the printing platforms are integral to the company's digital strategy and sees Polaroid moving away from the silver halide film that provided a foundation for its non-digital products. Epson targets UK company for patent infringement

Seiko Epson says it is embarking on legal action against UK ink cartridge seller Medea International over its claims of patented Epson-compatible cartridges. Epson says that Medea International's InkRite PhotoPLUS cartridges contain technologies that infringe UK patents it holds. It says that the spongeless valve design used in InkRite cartridges is similar to Epson's patented invention known as 'Epson Smart Valve Technology'. ...more

iPod recycling programme announced for the US

Apple has announced a free iPod recycling programme in the US. Unwanted iPods can be returned to any of the company's 100 retail stores for 'environmentally friendly disposal', in return for a 10 per cent discount on a new iPod if bought that day.
