Microsoft agrees Java deal

Microsoft agrees deal to ship Sun's Java, which it intends to appeal. Microsoft and Sun Microsystems have come up with an agreement to satisfy Judge J Frederick Motz's preliminary injunction against the former granting copyright infringement and Java-Must-Carry motions. Apple has recorded a year-on-year 43 per cent increase in computer sales and more than five million iPod shipments in its latest quarterly financial results. Fujitsu builds for new semiconductors

Fujitsu seems to be taking an enlightened long-term view to the current recessionary atmosphere. It's spending over a billion yen on new research and production facilities to help speed advances in the semiconductor industry.
