Contribute works with any HTMl Web site, allowing users to browse to the Web page they want to edit, make the changes and then publish them to the live site. Microsoft agrees Java deal

Microsoft agrees deal to ship Sun's Java, which it intends to appeal. Microsoft and Sun Microsystems have come up with an agreement to satisfy Judge J Frederick Motz's preliminary injunction against the former granting copyright infringement and Java-Must-Carry motions. Motz requested that Windows XP begins shipping with Sun's version of its Java environment within 120 days and ordered the two sides to formulate a plan to do this, but they couldn't agree on the specific terms. ...more

Hardware plumps Apple's financials

Apple has recorded a year-on-year 43 per cent increase in computer sales and more than five million iPod shipments in its latest quarterly financial results. Fujitsu builds for new semiconductors

Fujitsu seems to be taking an enlightened long-term view to the current recessionary atmosphere. It's spending over a billion yen on new research and production facilities to help speed advances in the semiconductor industry. The Japanese electronics company will be well aware of Intel's investments to support new high-technology chip making processes, and the Associated Press reports that Fujitsu are now committed to $800m new facilities on the outskirts of Tokyo. ...more
