Quark 6 demos released

Quark has made demo versions of QuarkXPress 6, its market leading DTP application, available for download. Among the software's new features are collaborative working on the same document, new Web layout tools, direct PDF export, multiple undos and full-resolution previews. The folowing limitations apply to the demos: all output will have 'QuarkXPress Demo' printed on it; printouts are limited to a maximum of five pages; Mac demos can only print to a PostScript printer; the Save, Save as, Save Page as EPS, New Library and Collect for Output commands are disabled;all Web document previews will have a 'QuarkXPress Demo' watermark embedded in all pictures; the Export HTML function is disabled; and limited language support (online demo only). ...more

Sun highlights dangers of 25mn share bid

Sun has said it is the target of a mini-tender offer by a Canadian company wishing to purchase 25m shares from stockholders. Sun has not recommended its investors to either take up or refuse the offer, but has pointed out that there are a number of risks associated with a mini-tender. The company offering the mini-tender, TRC Capital Corporation, is seeking shares less than one per cent of outstanding common stock. ...more
