Industry giants combine to promote DVB-H

The market for TV on mobiles is hotting up further with the announcement of a new industry body to promote the DVB-H format for delivering video to mobile devices. The Mobile DTV Alliance consists of some of the biggest players in mobile and wireless communications including Intel, Motorola, Nokia and Texas Instruments. JPEG exploit goes wild

Barely a fortnight following Microsoft's monthly security bulletin highlighting a vulnerability in the way its software handles images using the JPEG format, code to take advantage of the vulnerability has been found on images circulated in the EasyNews Usenet group. The company says it has found two images containing the code, which - if viewed - would result in software being downloaded that would give a remote attacker access to files on the machine storing the images, as well as free reign to run code on it. Yahoo! and Sun Microsystems have signed a deal to deliver a corporate portal aggregating Yahoo! sourced content with internal corporate information and applications via the Sun ONE Portal Server.
