Dell has launched a Managed Services offering in the UK. It will provide, it has announced, 'a complete managed lifecycle services solution' for computing infrastructures, for both Dell and multi-vendor based systems. October has been a busy month for virus reports, and Sophos has produced its monthly chart of the most frequently reported threats. A new variant of Mimail may be doing the rounds, but its ancestor - Mimail-A - remains one of the most prevalent viruses reported to Sophos. Intel price cuts ahead of 3GHz P4

Open Source Development Labs puts $4mn towards legal fighting fund

The Open Source Development Labs (OSDL) has put down $4mn towards an initiative to offer legal support to free and open source software (FOSS) projects. The Software Freedom Law Center (SFLC) will be headed up by Open Source luminary and copyright lawyer Eben Moglen, sitting as chairman and director-counsel, along with two full-time IP lawyers. Ofcom and BT agree to price cuts pushing LLU

In the wake of today's regulatory announcements - see Ofcom forces access revolution at BT - BT Wholesale has announced a number of service charge changes. BT Wholesale is cutting the rental price for its fully unbundled local loop product, in a bid to stimulate the local loop unbundling (LLU) market.
