Oftel to slash BT's unmetered dial-up

Oftel has proposed a 17 per cent price cut to the FRIACO unmetered wholesale product it offers to ISPs. When BT first introduced FRIACO (Fixed Rate Internet Access Call Origination) to allow ISPs to offer unmetered dial-up access, it included in the wholesale costs charges for call routing and managing the extra traffic on the network. Orange adds Motorola to Microsoft handset range

Orange has announced it is to offer the Motorola MPx200 in the UK, adding to its Microsoft-based handset range which, it says, have been 'the most successful phones ever in terms of data usage'. The MPx200 is the third Smartphone-based handset from Orange, which was the first operator to offer such a phone, last October - the Orange SPV. Indie label group says combined singles/download chart is flawed

The Association of Independent Music (AIM) has called on the Office of Fair Trading to delay the launch of the first combined singles chart on Sunday. AIM, which represents independent labels, says that the system for monitoring the gathering of chart data is seriously flawed and that many independent labels are not represented in key downloads sites. 'Like everyone else I'm keen to see download data included but at the moment the whole supply chain is insufficiently developed,' said Alison Wenham, CEO of AIM. ...more
