Twelve more phishers caught in the Net

Twelve more arrests have followed investigations by the National Hi-Tech Crime Unit (HTCU) into the practice of 'Phishing', which involves duping online users to divulge bank account details (either by email or bogus websites). F-Secure warns of bogus McAfee email

Finnish security company F-Secure said yesterday it had received numerous reports of an email in circulation that appeared to be from McAfee, which instructed recipients to download a bogus update which was in fact a virus. Hackers take axe to Internet root servers

Three of the world's 13 root DNS servers have come under fire in a distributed denial of service attack that lasted hours. These computers manage the routing of traffic on the Internet, and the offensive was thought to be one of the biggest seen in the last four years. Microsoft launches IE7 for Vista

Microsoft has announced a new version of Internet Explorer 7 especially developed for the forthcoming Vista operating system. The new version which has been dubbed Internet Explorer 7+ adds features that are not available in the version currently planned for existing versions of Windows. iTunes glitch gives Arctic Monkeys top spot

The Arctic Monkeys must be thanking whoever it was at the iTunes Store that helped them dominate the UK music charts last week.
