Quark gets Flash with Interactive Designer

Quark has released Quark Interactive Designer, new application for creating Flash content such as interactive tours, online ads and presentations using QuarkXPress 7. Designers can create interactive buttons, animations and movies without needing to know any code, using more than 100 predefined actions for transitioning pages, playing sounds, sliding objects and creating menus. Dell reports record results, again

Dell has reported record results for the last three months and year-on-year sales growth of 27 per cent. With the computer market growing at around a quarter of that, Dell's has increased its leading share of the market by around three per cent to 18 per cent. Opera disses MSN muppets

Browser-maker Opera Software renders MSN unusable with specially tailored Bork browser. Based on the Swedish chef muppet character Bork, the special edition is a dig at Microsoft's MSN site which was revealed to serve up different and inferior HTML files for Opera users. Allied Irish Bank opts for Sun desktop

Allied Irish Bank has signed up to use Sun Microsystem's Linux-based Java Desktop System (JDS) across 7,500 seats. The deal marks the largest customer win for Sun's desktop - in this case for the news JDS 2 system which offers centralised management controls.
