Samsung boast displeases Apple

Samsung appears to have lost the chance to supply chips for the next version of the iPod shuffle after an executive revealed that it had won the iPod nano contract. According to Wedbush Morgan Securities' analyst Craig Berger, Apple has punished the Korean company after Jon Kang, a senior vice president, boasted last month that it would succeed Portal Player as the nano's chip maker. BT claims to have sorted ADSL costs, but the move is likely to hamper competition at the root of the UK's broadband infrastructure. Apple marches on with Boot Camp

Apple has released a new beta version of Boot Camp, its software that enables Intel Macs to boot Windows XP. The update beta includes support for the latest Intel-based Macintosh computers; easier partitioning using presets for popular sizes; the ability to install Windows XP on any internal disk; and support for iSight cameras and built-in microphones.
