Oftel reveals DSL exchanges.

Oftel has revealed the locations of the first batch of BT's local DSL (digital subscriber line) exchanges, well ahead of its July 2001 deadline. So far 28 companies have been given shared space in 361 exchanges. Apple records first-ever billion dollar profit

Apple has announced record revenues and profits for the last financial quarter, after selling more than 20 million iPods and seeing a 28 per cent growth in Mac sales. Apple upgrades Workgroup Cluster server configuration

Apple has upgraded its Workgroup Cluster server configuration, which provides a complete kit for getting an Xserve-based cluster up-and-running. The new configuration starts at eight processors and includes a new Foundry switch and several third-party applications. UPDATED: iPod firmware update breaks Real 'hack'

Apple's most recent firmware update for the iPod, released last month, breaks Real Network's Harmony technology, which enable songs bought from Real's online store to be played on the device. The change was not mentioned by Apple at the time and whether it has been effective has not yet been verified. Nor is anyone clear if it applies only to the iPod photo, or to any iPod with the update installed. ...more
