Canadian artists take stand against music industry

A group of Canadian musicians has taken a stand against the anti-file sharing activities of their own record labels. The Canadian Music Creators Coalition, which counts Barenaked Ladies, Avril Lavigne, Sarah McLachlan and Broken Social Scene among its members, insists that suing their fans is destructive and hypocritical. Napster blames Microsoft for iTunes dominance

Napster's CEO has blamed Microsoft for the music service's failure to close the gap on Apple's iTunes. Chris Gorog told a Reuters Global Technology, Media and Telecoms Summit in New York that Microsoft's 'execution has been less than brilliant' over the past year.
