Government asks construction workers to build in Net access

The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister has announced a broadband consultation to discuss the possibility of making Net access integral to building work. With the Government's goal of making the UK the best place for e-commerce by 2005, it is asking the construction and broadband industries whether the take up of broadband would be accelerated by ensuring new and altered homes have the necessary cabling ducts built-in.
