Fraudulent websites pursued by the Office of Fair Trading

Trading standard agencies are pursuing the people behind 176 websites in the UK that have been identified as making claims that are 'too good to be true'. The Office of Fair Trading and local trading standards officers are part of a global crackdown on fraudulent sites, 1,847 of which have been identified worldwide. Amongst the scams found on the UK sites are 90 working from home schemes, 52 'get-rich-quick' schemes, 20 lottery schemes, 15 free prize offers and four offering educational qualifications. ...more
