BT Fusion service gets WiFi phones

BT has announced WiFi phones for its BT Fusion converged mobile/fixed line service. The WiFi-ready Nokia 6136, Motorola A910 and Samsung P200 handsets will be available from the Phones4U network of 400 high street shops tomorrow. They will give Fusion users the ability to not only make cheap calls when wirelessly connected to the Internet at home, but also at any of BT's OpenZone hotspots and Wireless Cities. ...more

Viruses erase digital memories

Brits are losing treasured memories to cyber crime because they are failing to make back-ups of their digital archives, a survey from McAfee has found. Almost one million UK households have lost irreplaceable photos of memorable events and loved ones, their favourite music, and entire address books after PCs were infected by a virus. McAfee questioned 1,500 home users across Europe and found that people are putting themselves at risk by using PCs, mobiles and PDAs as personal treasure troves. ...more
